Summer!

Summer has officially started! I'm so excited! I love it when Provo is all green and I get to go swimming without freezing!

Last Saturday, there was a ward activity planned down in Manti. Bryan and I couldn't go to the temple session beause we had to work, but we made it down there for dinner and the Manti Pageant. It was actually raining pretty hard until an hour before the pageant started, so the hill that was the stage was fairly slippery. I felt bad for the actors that were slipping and sliding all over the hill, but it was pretty funny. We didn't get home until after one in the morning and we had to get up for 9 o'clock church, so we were pretty tired (especially since we had gotten up at 5:30 am to go to work!).

Father's Day was uneventful, but great. We stayed at home, but called our dads to wish them a happy father's day. I am so grateful for everything that my dad and Bryan's dad have done for us.

I'm pretty excited for tonight because I am going to go out with my old roommate and have a girl's night. Girly movie, girly food, girly toenail polish. I love it!

Schools out...

School is almost over! We have about a week left, and I am so excited! I'm glad I was able to get some extra credits out of the way, but it will be nice to not worry about homework for a while. One of my last assignments for environmental health is to inspect resturants with a partner. I was really nervous, but thankfully my partner is great. She introduces us and we both get to watch the workers and talk to the manager about what we saw. In one place that we went to (I will not name it =D), we saw the assistant manager pick her nose and then touch the lids that go on the cup. Gross! Overall though, there have only been a couple minor things in each place that were a problem.

My brother got ordained an elder last week! It's crazy to think that he is going to college in the fall and leaving on a mission next spring. What happened to my little ten year old brother that followed me around everywhere?

We got a job! Bryan and I were dreading having nothing to do this summer besides working on the weekends, but now we have something to do! Someone at church remembered about us when her boss was looking for a couple people to hand out flyers. So we get to enjoy walking around in the sun while posting flyers around the county. We are so grateful for this. The Lord has truly blessed our lives.

Ward Activity

Last night we had a terrific ward activity. Our apartment complex is basically a square with a courtyard in it. Anyway, they hung and stretched a sheet across the stairwell to make a projector screen. When it got dark we put in Bedtime Stories, popped some popcorn and sat on blankets to enjoy the show. Bryan and I had a great time spending time with some of our friends in the ward and enjoyed the movie.

This week has been pretty crazy for school, and there is still a lot to do! Thankfully the term is almost over. Yay! For one of my classes, I had to create a blog about a health topic. If you feel like it, you can head on over here, check it out and comment on it.

One Year

It's hard to believe it has already been a year since Bryan and I got married. Time has flown! To celebrate, we went to see Angels and Demons in the new-ish theater and went out to dinner at PF Changs (an amazing place, if a little expensive). We wanted to go somewhere, but unfortunately money, school, etc prevented that. We had a great time hanging around here anyway. (Sorry about the word in the middle of the picture!)

Life has been good, but a little stressful. A little stress is good, right? School has been picking up and there are lots of assignments and tests. We haven't found extra work yet, but are still looking. We are lucky to have the jobs that we have. If I can't take classes this summer, I think I am going to volunteer at the hospital for a few weeks.

I'm glad summer is upon us. I am also glad that our air conditioning bill is included in our rent. =D

Happy Mother's Day!

First off, I want to say happy Mother's Day to my mother and mother-in-law as well as all of the other women that have shaped my life. Cheers to motherhood.

It has been a good weekend. We went up to see Bryan's family on friday to celebrate mother's day as well as my mother-in-law's birthday. For her present we put together a photo album with Rachel and Wendy's help. I think she liked it alot. Here is one of the pictures we found:

It was taken December of last year. Bryan is taking the picture, but he, Rachel, Olya, and Jacob helped me make the fist snowman I ever remember making. We had a good time.

We also all went to go see the new Star Trek movie this weekend. I thought that it was only going to be okay, but I really liked it. Two thumbs up.

I had to give a talk in church today. It turned out alright, though my knees were knocking together nearly the whole time. I got to speak about motherhood and how all women are mothers, even if they don't have children. Since we attend a student married ward, I hope that I helped some women feel like Mother's day is special for them too.
And now it is the beginning of the week again. I think it will be a good one. We are having FHE with some friends of our in the ward, so that will be fun. Other than that, it's school and work...ugh. At least the weather will be nice!

Today was a beautiful day!

Ahh, the day after finals are done. It's a wonderful feeling. Today, Bryan and I haven't had to be anywhere or do anything that we didn't want to. We slept in, had a great breakfast, and lazed around the apartment. Liz came over in the afternoon and we made a picnic. We spent a couple hours at the park with Liz and PJ in the beautiful weather. It has been a wonderful day.

Happy Easter

It has been a good weekend. I have had lots of fun with friends and family, and I wish that I had to thought to take pictures! I haven't been so good about that lately. :)

On friday Bryan and I went to visit Liz and PJ. We helped them move a piano and then we decorated easter eggs! They were pretty cool because the was shiny stuff that we could put on them. Afterwards, we went to the dollar theater and saw Mall Cop. Hilarious!

Saturday, after work, Bryan and I went up to Ogden to see his family. Almost everyone was there, except Jacob, who is on his mission. It was a lot of fun. We decorated eggs, watched a movie called 16 Blocks, and ate good food.

Today, we went to Temple Square in Salt Lake to watch the broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word. It was amazing to be in the Tabernacle and hear the choir, bells, and orchestra fill the hall with beautiful music. I could feel the Spirit strongly and couldn't help but thank my Heavenly Father again for the gift of His Son. Afterwards, we went to church with Bryan's family. It was strange to be in a family ward, but enjoyable. I like the wide varity of people. When we went back to the house, we had an amazing dinner. We got Eater baskets (yay!)! I got the Twilight movie, Bryan got the third season of House, and we both got tons of candy. It has been a wonderful day with family.

Now I am at work...waiting for a toilet or something to blow up so I can have something to clean.
